16 killed in Pakistan bus accident

ISLAMABAD - At least 16 people were killed and 42 injured Sunday in a bus accident in northwest Pakistan, a media report said.

The accident occurred in Mallam Jabba in Swat valley when a bus carrying a wedding party fell into a deep ditch, Geo TV reported.

Police said 16 people, including five women and three children, died and 42 others sustained injuries.

The condition of several victims was stated to be critical, the report said.
