Five killed, 28 injured as bus overturns

RAIPUR - Five people were killed and 28 seriously injured Monday when a speeding private bus carrying about 75 passengers overturned in Surguja district of Chhattisgarh, police said.

“The bus was on its way to Ambikapur from Korba. Five people died on the spot, while 28 others are battling for life in hospital,” a police spokesperson said at Surguja, some 350 km from state capital Raipur.

The driver of the bus is absconding, and efforts are on to nab him, he said.
