Angry cop fires at senior in Himachal

SHIMLA - A head constable was injured when his colleague fired at him in Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, police said Saturday.

“Constable Shamsher Kumar opened fire at his senior Surjit Kumar in a fit of rage late Friday,” superintendent of police Madhu Sudan told IANS.

The incident occurred in Tissa, some 475 km from here. Shamsher Kumar was arrested Saturday.

“Investigations are still on. We cannot comment on the motive behind the incident,” he added.

The personnel belonged to the Indian Reserve Battalion of the state police, deployed along the Jammu and Kashmir border in Chamba district.
