Eight killed in Mexican helicopter crash

MEXICO CITY - Eight people were killed when a helicopter in the service of state-owned oil company Pemex crashed on the east coast of Mexico, reports said.

According to witnesses, the helicopter was on fire and came down in the state of Veracruz. The cause of the crash that took place Friday was not yet known.

Six mechanics and two pilots were on board. They had taken off in the south-eastern state of Campeche and crashed shortly before landing in Minatitlan, southern Veracruz.
