Chhattisgarh official owns assets worth millions

RAIPUR - Raids on a junior official of Chhattisgarh’s mining department have revealed assets worth millions of rupeees, an official said Wednesday.

Officials of the Economic Offences Wing carried out the raids at three locations of Ganesh Prasad Kumhare Tuesday and Wednesday.

Rs.3.7 million was recovered in cash besides papers revealing that he owned properties worth millions in various districts of the state. The papers also confirmed that the official owned jewellery worth Rs.3 million while he had over Rs.4 million cash deposited in various banks, the official said.
