Four kids drown in Bangladesh pond

DHAKA - Three girls and a boy - aged between seven to 12 - drowned while plucking water lilies at a pond in Bangladesh, officials said.

The incident happened in Meghna area, 96 km from Dhaka, Monday afternoon, Xinhua reported.

Uttam Kumar, an administrative officer of Meghna, said six children went in a small boat to pluck water lilies. The boat capsized when all of them went to one side.

Two children survived somehow and cried for help. Local people on hearing their cries rushed to the scene and rescued them, he said.
