CHANDIGARH - At least two workers were killed and three others injured when the floor of a leading food products company’s factory caved in Monday at Khamano town in Ludhiana district, 80 km from here.

Police officials said that the floor of the Lakshmi Energy and Food Industries caved in Monday morning and the workers got buried in the debris.

While two workers were killed, efforts were on to rescue three others who were trapped under the debris.

Police officials said that the floor caved in due to the weight of heavy machinery in the factory.

At least 15 workers were present inside the factory when the accident occurred. However, the other workers were not hurt.
