Robbers loot gold worth Rs.2.5 crore in Bhopal

BHOPAL - At least five armed assailants stormed into a finance company office Monday in Bhopal and looted gold estimated to have a market price of Rs.2.5 crore, police said.

The incident took place in the heart of the city under Hanumanganj police area. Police later sealed all entry and exit points of the Madhya Pradesh capital but were yet to make any breakthrough in the case.

The assailants, said to be five-six in number, raided the office of Manappuram Finance and forced the staff to part with 13 kg gold.

“All entry and exit points of the city have been sealed, police are doing their best to track down the robbers,” Adarsh Katiyar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Bhopal, told IANS.
