Rio Grande Missing Woman Search Resumed

SANTA FE (GaeaTimes.com)- On Tuesday the search for the Santa Fe area woman named Mariah Walker was resumed by the State police. Mariah Walker went missing on Tuesday, Aug 10, from the Rio Grande River where she jumped for a swim reportedly. The authorities have been joined by friends and family members of the 32-year-old woman who are hoping against hope that their beloved Mariah Walker is still alive and safe.

Billie Ann Mora, sister of Mariah Walker said to media sources that the latter had rode in a car with one of her friends down Buckman Road to the Rio Grande River on Aug 10. While they had previously planned to walk along the shore of the river, after reaching the place, Mariah Walker reportedly began to play with the water of Rio Grande. Billie Ann Mora maintained that Mariah Walker had asked her friend to wait on the bank as she floated down the river for a swim. It was her friend who had reported to the police after Mariah Walker did not surface for long. Billie Ann Mora said that she does not suspect the friend who had accompanied Mariah Walker to Rio Grande.

State police sent out rescue and search teams to find Mariah Walker, but could not find any trace of her in and around Rio Grande. It also issued phone numbers and asked people to inform the police if they knew about the whereabouts of the lady. Mariah Walker’s sister stated to the State police’s rescue team had searched the river for around three days last week and put to use helicopters and divers. However, unable to find any trace of the lady the state police called off the efforts.
