Quake hits Japan

TOKYO - An earthquake measuring 5.3 on the Richter scale jolted Japan’s Chiba Prefecture early Friday, the meteorological agency said.

The focus of the quake was located some 30 km underground in northeastern Chiba Prefecture, Xinhua reported.

There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage to properties.
