NAGPUR - Four people drowned in the Wadgaon dam in Maharashtra’s Nagpur district, police said Wednesday.

“The incident happened Tuesday evening. While the bodies of three persons were found late last (Tuesday) night, one body was recovered this (Wednesday) afternoon,” said a duty officer at Bela Police Station.

Three of the victims were identified as Sariputra Dhuthul, Jaisingh Morolia and Raju Zinde.

“We have not been able to ascertain their exact age yet, but they seem to be aged between 25 and 40,” the official said.

“Fishing rods were found on the spot where they drowned. However, it has not been ascertained whether they were here for fishing or for a picnic,” the official said.

The dam is situated in Bela village, around 50 km from Nagpur city.
