DHAKA - At least 50 people, including women and children, were missing after a boat with about 100 passengers on board capsized Sunday night in a river in Bangladesh.

The boat left the Tanbazar ghat for Bandar area at around 10 p.m. As it reached the middle of the river Shitalakkhya, a sand-laden cargo boat rammed into it, The Daily Star quoted a police officer as saying.

“Around 20-30 passengers have been rescued immediately after the incident while six of the injured were admitted to different local hospitals,” the officer said.
