KOCHI - Sufiya Maudany, an accused in the 2005 Kalamessery bus burning case and wife of People’s Democratic Party chief Abdul Nasir Maudany, Tuesday got relaxation in her bail conditions from a special National Investigation Agency court here.

After hearing her plea that she be given a month’s time to go out of Ernakulam district to be with her husband, the court granted her three days’ relaxation.

She had pleaded that her husband who has been named as an accused in the 2008 Bangalore bomb blast case might be arrested anytime. She said she would like to spend time with him and hence asked for a month’s relaxation.

But the court gave her three days’ time starting Wednesday to be with her husband and children who are staying near Kollam, about 150 km from here.

On Dec 23, 2009 she got bail from a sessions court on the condition that she would surrender her passport and not go out of Ernakulam district.

In the bus burning case of 2005, the main accused is south India chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba T. Nazeer, who is now in custody of Bangalore police.

In a related development, a Bangalore court hearing the bail plea of Maudany Tuesday posted the case for July 7.
