Strong quake hits Japan

TOKYO - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale hit Japan’s northernmost Hokkaido island at 11.23 a.m. Friday, Xinhua quoted the Japan Meteorological Agency as saying.
