BHOPAL - Curfew was clamped in Madhya Pradesh’s Obaidullahganj town in Raisen district following communal clashes, officials said Monday.

“A person named Rupesh had a quarrel during a marriage ceremony in a Muslim family in his neighbourhood late Sunday. Later during firing from both sides two people were injured. But the situation was brought under control,” a police official said.

Monday morning men belonging to one community burnt shops of the other community, police said.

“A curfew has been clamped in Obaidullahgang after communal clashes,” District Collector Sunita Tripathi said.
