Tornado Warning Issued To Counties

ILLINOIS (GaeaTimes.com)- On Saturday, tornado warnings were issued to a large part of Illinois. The National Weather Service declared a tornado warning at the northeastern Monroe and south Wayne counties. While the tornado warning for the Washtenaw County was issued until 11:45 pm, the warning for the Southern Wayne County continued until 12:15 am. However, the National Weather Services extended the tornado watch until 5 am as it said that the present weather condition of the state is favorable for a tornado. The tornado watch warning was issued for Berrien, Brench, Cass, Hillsdale, Washtenaw County, Lenawee, Monroe and St. Joseph as well.

The tornado warnings were issued and extended to a large part of the country as the weather condition worsened and reports of heavy hail storm and rain came from different parts. On Saturday, a tornado hit Central Illinois. The Peoria County Sheriff’s Office mentioned to media sources that the tornado hit Elmwood, Illinois. Though no reports of casualty due to the tornado has yet been reported a media source has claimed that major roads in the area have been closed by the authorities.

Apart from the tornado warning, the National Weather Services have also issued flood watch in the Metro Detroit region until 8 am Sunday. The Metro Detroit region was hit with severe thunderstorm on Saturday that left 14,000 without power supply. Reports claim that the DET Energy is trying to restore power to the houses affected by the storm and has put to work around 120 crew members. As for the other parts that were given a tornado warning on Saturday night, though the time period of the tornado warning is over, the weather condition remains critical.
