PANAJI - A Swedish model and former girlfriend of an arrested Israeli drug dealer has alleged in an email interview that a son of a “big politician” was linked to the drug mafia in the state.

Spycam videos by Lucky Mangarda or Lucky Farmhouse, 33, of notorious drug dealer Atala uploaded on Youtube.com resulted in him and half a dozen policemen being arrested for their links to the mafia in March this year. In an email interview, Mangarda has said that she is in possession of more videos of a Goan politician’s son and several policemen who came to collect bribes from Atala.

“A son to a big politician is involved; I have met him in Atala’s house many times and will remember his face. It´s scary to see his father in the news. He is the reason I have not put out all recordings I have done because I need to save those in case they come after me,” she has said in an email interview to a local journalist, a transcript of which is with IANS.

Mangarda claims that Atala made regular payments to top police officials.

“The policeman, the big boss, (referring to former incharge of anti-narcotics cell Ashish Shirodkar, who has been arrested), he (Atala) had to pay very much money.

“One night they met up on a empty road and Atala gave him Rs.47,000 but he was still asking for more. This is the same policeman who sold the plastic bag with different drugs in one of the videos and the policeman Atala gave information to about other criminals,” Lucky, who claims to have modelled in Stockholm, Paris and London, said.

The model also said she recorded TV footage of Atala’s dealing with the police and politicians, because the drug dealer was looking to bump her off.

“He had asked around among his criminal friends if someone could get rid of me. So I continued to record when I had the chance and booked a ticket back to Sweden,” she said.

Mangarda expressed surprise that police had still not contacted her to know more about the drug mafia-police-politician nexus.

“I´m very surprised no police have contacted me,” she said, adding that she was willing to offer more information and hand over the sensitive videos but was apprehensive to a certain extent.

“They have my name and know who I am and Atala has threatened by phone that he will finish my life. I´m not afraid of Atala, but I´m a little afraid of this police and what they can do,” she said.

The Goa police has been grappling to cope with the aftermath of the two spycam videos shot by Mangarda that came on the heels of arrest of yet another Israeli drug peddler David Driham alias Dudu.

Dudu, during interrogation, has reportedly revealed the names of several politicians, policemen and journalists which the police have refused to officially acknowledge.
