2 people dead after Denver city bus hits vehicles

DENVER — A second person has died after a Denver city bus ran a red light and struck two vehicles.

Police spokesman Matthew Murray said Sunday that a woman critically injured in the crash died. She was riding in the same car as a man who died Saturday of his injuries.

The bus driver hasn’t been arrested or cited. Murray says the crash is still under investigation.

The Regional Transportation District bus was northbound on Lincoln Street, a major route in the city, when it collided with a car and a pickup at about 5 p.m. Saturday.

Witnesses say the bus struck the car first, then pushed the pickup into a parking lot and against a billboard pole.
