Another worker injured in Conn. explosion sues

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Another worker injured in a Connecticut power plant explosion last month that killed six workers has filed a lawsuit accusing the companies handling the project of negligence.

Authorities say the Feb. 7 explosion at the Kleen Energy Systems plant in Middletown happened as workers were using natural gas to clean out gas lines.

Benjamin Lee of Wallingford filed the lawsuit Thursday in New Haven Superior Court against O&G Industries and other companies. Lee, who is represented by attorney Steven Errante, said he suffered a fractured pelvis and other injuries and accuses the companies of failing to contain the gas being purged and allowing ignition sources to be present.

A telephone message was left Thursday for an O&G spokesman.

Two workers injured in the explosion sued last month alleging safety procedures were not followed.
