Two killed, one hurt in two road accidents

NEW DELHI - Two people were killed and another was critically injured in two separate road accidents in west Delhi, police said Monday.

Vijay Pal, 35, was crushed to death by a speeding truck in Dwarka in west Delhi Sunday night.

Police said that Pal, a resident of Dwarka, was allegedly hit from behind by the heavy vehicle when he was travelling on his motorbike around 11.30 p.m.

“Vijay worked with an MNC in the city. The truck driver is absconding,” said a police officer.

In another incident, a man was killed and another injured by a speeding car in Begumpur area of west Delhi Sunday night.

Brothers Aditya and Ankit, residents of Rohini area, were going on a motorbike bike towards Rohini’s Sector-22 when a Santro car hit them and fled, leaving the former dead and the latter injured.

The accident took place near New Delhi Power Limited (NDPL) office situated in Rohini’s Sector-22.

“Aditya died on way to hospital while Ankits condition is said to be critical. A hunt has been launched to nab the car driver, said a police officer.
