One injured in students’ clash

CHANDIGARH - One person was injured when rival groups of students political parties clashed in the hostel of DAV College here, police said Saturday.

According to police, activists of Students’ Organisation of Panjab University (SOPU) and another group clashed over a minor issue.

Initially, there was some verbal spat between the students and it was followed by a clash. Students attacked each other with sharp-edged weapons and batons. Ramanpreet Singh, a student, suffered serious injuries and is admitted to a government hospital, the official said.
