Three held for gang rape in south Delhi

NEW DELHI - Three men, who allegedly gang raped a 30-year-old married woman here while she was returning home from office, have been arrested, police said Friday.

All the three - Sandeep, Ravinder and Umesh - were arrested Thursday night. They are from Sonepat in Haryana, police sources said.

According to the sources, the three men - one of them a Blueline bus conductor - abducted the woman at knife point from Jamali Road in south Delhi when she was returning home from Gurgaon after work Tuesday around 9 p.m.

They raped her at an isolated place and threatened to kill her if she revealed the incident to anyone, the sources said.

In deep shock and severe pain, the woman reached home in Mehrauli area in an auto rickshaw and told her husband about what happened.

Medical test confirmed rape and Mehrauli police station registered a gang rape case.

However, the police refused to divulge details except confirming the arrest of the three men.
