ISLAMABAD - Two Chinese engineers were killed in a mine collapse in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, an official said Monday.

The Chinese engineers died in the chromite mine in Qila Saifullah district Sunday, Dawn reported Monday.

Sources said the two engineers were working in the mine when a portion caved in and they were buried under the debris. They received fatal head injuries and died on the spot.

“The bodies have been retrieved and sent to Quetta for the transportation to China,” said Hamidullah Nasar, an official.

A Chinese firm is working on the chromite project.
