NEW DELHI - Two people, including a man declared a proclaimed offender by courts in five cases including attempt to murder and rioting, were arrested in south Delhi, police said Saturday.

Anni Massey, 32, a proclaimed offender, and Ajay, 31, who also has a criminal record, were arrested from Lado Sarai Friday.

“Following a tip-off that Anni will come near Lado Sarai red light along with active members of his gang on Friday, we laid a trap and apprehended them,” said a senior police officer.

Anni, a school dropout, in 1997 murdered his rival gang’s leader Taslim in Sriniwaspuri. In 1998, he killed Subhash in Badarpur, police said.
