SYDNEY - A missing Sydney businessman’s body was found dumped in a freezer chest, a week after he disappeared from his tyre shop, said police.

Allan Noor’s body was hidden inside a commercial freezer in the basement of an apartment block in Sydney’s south, The Daily Telegraph reported Wednesday.

Police confirmed that they made the gruesome discovery last month.

Fortynine-year-old Noor was last seen Dec 31 at the Payless Tyres store that he owned and operated at Chatswood in Sydney’s north.

The father of three was reported missing to police on New Year’s Day after he failed to turn up at a party the night before.

A week later, police found his frozen body, which showed no signs of violence or injury, beneath a unit block in Carlton.

A police official defended their decision not to release details of Noor’s death earlier, saying the decision was made for “operational reasons”.
