17 killed in Indonesia bus accident

JAKARTA - Seventeen people were killed and 40 others were injured Monday in a bus accident in the Central Java province of Indonesia, Xinhua reported.

The bus plunged into a ravine in the Peringkesit area of Temanggung district, police officer Sugiyono told Xinhua by phone. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals.
