HISAR - An Oman national was arrested from near the military area of Haryana’s Hisar town on suspicion of being a spy, police said Saturday.

According to police, the accused has been identified as Hasan Bin Abdullah Abrahim and he was staying here illegally for the last one month.

“Acting on a tip-off, we arrested Abrahim on Thursday night. During questioning, he could not give satisfactory answers, so we have booked him under various sections of the Indian Penal Code. He is an educated man and reached India in November last year,” said Hisar Superintendent of Police Hanif Qureshi.

“He has no visa or passport and said he lost his bag in a train in Delhi. He went to Delhi, Mumbai and Ajmer before coming here. His activities are very suspicious and we have informed the Oman Embassy about his arrest,” he added.
