HYDERABAD - Three students of an engineering college were killed and 20 others were injured when a bus they were travelling in overturned near Tirupati town in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district Thursday evening, police said.

The bus belonging to state-owned Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) was going to Tirupati from Madanpalli. It overturned near a railway crossing at Srinivasa Mangapuram near Tirupati.

Three students of an engineering college were killed and 20 others, most of them students, were injured.

Police said the bus driver apparently lost control of the vehicle due to high speed, which caused the accident.

The students were from Tirupati’s Sri Vidyaniketan Engineering College, run by popular Telugu actor and former MP Mohan Babu.
