Teenager Killed in Stolen Car Crash near Bathrust

BATHRUST (GaeaTimes.com) — A 16 year old boy has been charged in connection with a fiery fatal car accident near Bathurst.

Another 16 year old boy, who was a passenger, died when the blue Ford Falcon station wagon veered off the Fremantle Road at Billywillinga, hit trees and burst into flames on early Sunday morning. The teenage driver managed to get out of the car and left the scene.

Police say the vehicle had also been reported stolen earlier that day.

The 16 year old went into the Bathurst Police Station yesterday afternoon and has been charged with a range of offences including dangerous driving occasioning death and fail to stop and assist after impact occasioning death.

He has been granted conditional bail to appear in the Bathurst Local Court next month.

Police are yet to release the name of the victim.
