35 dead, 10 missing in Bangladesh boat capsize

DHAKA - At least 35 people were killed and about 10 others were missing when their boat capsized in northeastern Bangladesh Saturday, Xinhua reports.

The accident occurred in Sunamganj district, some 290 km northeast of Dhaka. The vessel crashed into a sand-laden trawler around 9.30 p.m. on the Surma river.

Thirty-five bodies have been retrieved from the river so far. The boat was carrying 50 people at the time of the accident.
