One Dead, One Critically injured in Twin Accident in Vancouver

VANCOUVER, CANADA (GaeaTimes.com) — In an unfortunate turn of event, one constructor worker was killed and another was severely injured in two separate accidents which took place within blocks and minutes of each other downtown Vancouver on Thursday.

The first worker who was killed when a form used for pouring concrete hit him on the 30th floor of the Three Harbour Green construction site near West Cordova and Thurlow streets just after 8 a.m. The second accident took place at Canada Place when a worker fell from a height of 40-45 feet. The reason behind this accident is still not clear.
The man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries. His status was not known at press time.

Surprisingly, both workers were employed by the same Vancouver-based contractor, Ledcor. WorkSafeBC is investigating both accidents and the identities of both the worker are yet to be released.
