Cambodia stampede toll reaching 100 (Second Lead)

PHNOM PENH - The death toll from a stampede at a festival in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh Monday night is climbing toward 100, according to emergency workers.

A DPA reporter at the scene said the victims were mainly young people who panicked while crossing a bridge during water-festival celebrations. The incident happened around 9.30 p.m. local time (0230 GMT).
