17 killed in Colombia bus accident

BOGOTA - At least 17 people were killed and 35 injured when a bus fell into a ravine in southern Colombia, authorities said.

The accident occurred Saturday night in Cauca province, Xinhua reported.

“The last report was 17 deaths, including three children, and we sent 35 injured to different hospitals of the region,” an official said.

Most of the people killed in the accident belonged to the ethnic group Nasa.
