9 killed, one injured in Kashmir road accident

SRINAGAR - Nine people were killed and one critically injured in a road accident in north Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, police said here Wednesday.

Police said a Tata Sumo vehicle carrying passengers from Ladakh to Srinagar rolled down into a deep gorge in Sarfraw village late Tuesday night, killing nine passengers and critically injuring one.

“The driver lost control and the vehicle rolled down into a deep gorge. Eight of the dead were Nepali nationals and one was from Ladakh. The injured was shifted to hospital,” a senior police officer said.
