WASHINGTON (GaeaTimes.com)- The earthquake that rattled the residents of Maryland and a large part of Washington D.C. has created sensation in the capital though it has not left anyone injured as such. However, the president of the USA Barack Obama has said that he could not feel the tremor on Friday morning. As per the data presented by the seismologists, the earthquake was not very strong and had an intensity of 3.6. Still, they think that it was the strongest ever quake to hit the capital in the last three decades. The U.S. Geological Survey which is keeping track of the quakes happening in and around Washington D.C. region also echoed the same view. The tremors of this earthquake were felt by the residents of regions like West Virginia and Pennsylvania. The President was asked by the reporters about the quake and he said that it did not rattle him.

President Barack Obama met the reporters outside the White House on Friday morning. He wanted to clear queries about the BP oil spill at the Gulf of Mexico. However, before he could say anything on that the reporters asked if he felt the tremors himself. The President said with his characteristic smile that he did not feel the earthquake at all. This has been a case with some residents of Washington D.C. as well.

However, the FEMA administrator Craig Fugate also reportedly did not feel the Washington D.C. earthquake. The earthquake has not left the roads damaged but the regional road crews are thinking of an inspection to find out if any bridge or road has suffered any damage.
