Indian ship catches fire off Yemen coast

SANAA - An Indian ship carrying 13 crew members caught fire in the Arabian Sea off the Yemeni coast, Yemen’s interior ministry said Monday.

The fire broke out in the ship “Firat” when it was 190 nautical miles to the north of Socotra island .

Accoring to Yemeni Coast Guard, all the 13 sailors have been rescued by another ship which transported them to Socotra.

The ship was coming from Pakistan carrying a shipment of rice to Somalia, the ministry said in a statement on its website, Xinhua reported.
